RE-BIDDING: The initial deadline August 27, 2008 has been extended till September 5, 2008.

This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business , issue No: 719 of January 15, 2008.

Georgia has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of the Education System Realignment and Strengthening Program” (APL2) and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the contract for Construction of new building for the V. Jugaani school (#APL2/CW/ICB/05-1/2008).

MDF now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for Construction of new building for the V. Jugaani school . Village Jugaani (Signagi District) is located in Eastern Georgia and the project site of the School is in the existing school yard, in the central part of Village Jugaani. The construction site from north-eastern is bordered with the existing School site of the village, from north-western and south-western - with village roads, from south-eastern - with the personal plots of local inhabitants. It is by 130 km far from Tbilisi. Accessing the construction site is possible through Tbilisi-Tsnori-Dedoplistskaro motorway.

Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, May 2004 and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia (MDF) office at the address below from 10:00 to 18:00 hours. A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of GEL 350 (three hundred and fifty) or USD 200 (two hundred). The method of payment will be direct deposit or transfer to the Account:

Qualifications requirements include:

The margin of preference for eligible national contractors/joint ventures shall not be applied.

Bids must be delivered to the address below no later than 14:00 hours, September 5, 2008. Late bids will be rejected.

All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of GEL 80'000.00 (eighty thousand) equivalent.

Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives and anyone who choose to attend at the address below at 14:00 hours, September 5, 2008.
