INVITATION FOR RE-BIDS

1. This Invitation for Re-bids follows the Procurement Notice that appeared in United Nations Development Business Issue No. 693 of December 31, 2006 and posted online on December 5, 2006 and was also advertised in the national newspapers Jakarta Post and Republika on May 14, 2007.

2. Muslim Aid Indonesia has received a grant from the Multi Donor Fund (administered by the World Bank) towards the cost of Emergency Rehabilitation of the Drainage and Flood Protection System of Banda Aceh Project Zone 2, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this grant to payments under the contract for Procurement of Rubber Check Valve.

3. Muslim Aid Indonesia now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the Purchase of the following Goods:

- 34 units of elastomeric rubber check valves of sizes 600 mm, 750 mm, and 1,050 mm, including a number of spares and all necessary fittings. 31 units of check valves will be installed by a contractor of a civil works contract under the guidance of the supplier, in the kecamatans of Kutaraja, Baiturrahman, and Meuraksa, Banda Aceh City. The rubber check valves will replace damaged and poorly functioning existing sluice and flap gates, as well as provide new control valves to assist in reducing potential flooding.

4. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, May 2004, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.

5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Muslim Aid Indonesia, Ms. Saliza Mohamadar, Project Manager, and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below from 08.30 a.m. to 17.00 p.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIT), September 4, 2008 to October 20, 2008.

6. A margin of preference for certain goods manufactured domestically shall not be applied.

7. A complete set of bidding documents in
English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Rp. 1,000,000 or USD.100. The method of payment will be by cash, or by bank draft, payable to Muslim Aid Special Project. The bidding documents will be collected or sent by courier services.

8. Bids must be delivered to the address below at the latest 10.00 a.m. WIT on October 20, 2008.
Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below at 10.00 a.m. on October 20, 2008. All bids must be accompanied by a “Bid Security” of 2 % of bidding price.
