Eligibility of Bidders:   Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, May 2004 and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.
Qualifications requirements include:
Financial:
a) Submission of audited balance sheets or other financial statements for the last three (3) years proving long-term profitability
b) Capacity to have cash flow in amount US$500,000 or equivalent
c) Minimum average annual turnover during the last five (5) years US$2,000,000 equivalent
Technical:
a) Experience under supply contracts in the role of Manufacturer, supplier or Agent for at least the last five (5) years prior to the bid submission deadline.
b) Participation as Manufacturer, supplier or Agent, in at least Two (2) contracts within the last five (5) years, each with a value of at least US$1,000,000 that have been successfully and substantially completed and that are similar to the proposed goods. The similarity shall be based on the physical size, complexity, methods/technology or other characteristics as described in Section VI, Schedule of Requirements. A margin of preference for eligible national contractors shall not be applied. Additional details are provided in the Bidding Documents

Supply of Goods for Chlorine and Chemical Units at Al Karkh Water Treatment Plant
ICB No. TF054435-G12/2008
1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business of 11 November 2004.
2. The Mayoralty of Baghdad has received a Grant from the World Bank Iraqi Trust Fund toward the cost of Emergency Baghdad Water Supply and Sanitation Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this Grant to payments under the Contract for Supply of Goods for Chlorine and Chemical Units at Al Karkh Water Treatment Plant. Contract Number ICB TF054435 G12/2008.
3. The Mayoralty of Baghdad now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for supplying of Evaporators, Chlorinators, Vacuum regulators, Ejectors and Ejector Motive water booster pumps and Ventilation equipment for Chlorine Unit and Dosing pumps, Transfer pumps, Air Blowers and Fork lifts for Chemical unit at Al-Karkh WTP. The delivery period is 6-7 months.

7. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee US$300. The method of payment will be cashier's check at PMT office - Mayoralty of Baghdad. The Bidding Documents can be pick-up from the address below.
Purchasing of bidding documents will begin on September 21,2008
8. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before November 5, 2008 at 12:00 noon local time. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend in person or on-line at the address below at November 5, 2008 at 12:00 noon local time. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of US$50,000 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.
