PREQUALIFICATION FOR THE WORKS OF REHABILITATION/CONSTRUCTION OF FARMED MARSHLAND AND HILLSIDE AREAS
SOURCE OF FUNDING : CREDIT IDA N° 3483-RW “RURAL SECTOR SUPPORT PROJECT”.
1.The Republic of Rwanda has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) towards the cost of the Rural Sector Support Project (RSSP), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the contracts for new Construction or Rehabilitation of Farmed Marshland and Hillside Areas as detailed below. Applications for prequalification may be made for one or more of these contracts.

2.The National Tender Board intends to pre-qualify contractors, with experience in developing and transforming marshlands, for contracts for the construction and/or rehabilitation of farmed marshlands through the provision of dams, canals, irrigation & drainage systems and their associated hydraulic structures, road networks, soil conservation and erosion control structures for the hillside areas, rice milling facilities, drying floors, produce stores, offices, residential quarters and electrification and water supply.
3.Prequalification will be conducted through pre-qualification procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, January 1995 (revised January and August 1996 and September 1997), and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries, as defined in the guidelines. There will be no margin of preference.

4. Prospective and eligible bidders may purchase the documents upon presentation of a prepaid slip of a non refundable fee of 100 US $ or its equivalent in any other convertible currency paid to the account N° 110.00.00 of “Monsieur l’Ordonnateur Trésorier” opened in the National Bank of Rwanda P.O BOX 531, TEL: (250) 574282, FAX: (250) 572551

5.Applications for pre-qualification should be submitted in sealed envelopes, and in four copies (1original and 3 copies) delivered to the National Tender Board by Tuesday 15th July 2003 not later than 09 hours local time and be clearly marked, “Application to Pre-qualify for the Construction / Rehabilitation of Farmed Marshland and Hillside Areas”.
