TENDER NOTICE N° 132/F/2003-I/IDA/2003

RWANDA HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

IDA CREDIT NO. 3367 - RW

1. This invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Development Business, issue n° 604 of April 16, 2003 ;

2. The Government of Rwanda has received a loan from the International Bank for
Reconstruction and Development in various currencies towards the cost of Human Resource Development Project under the Ministry of Education. It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan be applied to eligible payments under the contract for the supply of Laboratory materials and Equipment to the SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY & EDUCATION FACULTIES OF THE NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF RWANDA (UNR) ;

3. The Government of Rwanda through the National Tender Board (NTB) now invites bids
from eligible bidders for the supply of the Laboratory materials and Equipment;

4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding
documents at the secretariat of the National Tender Board B.P. 4276 Kigali
Tél. (250) 501 403, 501 404, 501 405. Fax : (250) 501 402, Avenue de la Paix, KIGALI-

5. A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders on the
submission of a written application to the above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee
of 50,000 Rwandan Francs or equivalent in a convertible currency;

6. The provisions and Instructions to Bidders and General Conditions of Contract are the
provisions of the World Bank Standard Bidding Documents: Procurement of Goods ;

7. Bids must be delivered to the above office not later than 9 H 30’ local time on 29/08/2003
and must be accompanied by a bid security of US $ 5,000 or equivalent ;

8. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 10 H 00’ local time 29/08/2003 at the National Tender Board- Conference Room.
