TENDER FOR PUBLISHING AND SUPPLY OF KINYARWANDA TEXTBOOKS AND TEACHERS’ GUIDE.

The Government of Rwanda is in receipt of a grant from the Department for International Development (DFID) towards the cost of school textbooks for the Rwanda Education Sector Support Program and it is intended that part of the proceeds will be applied to eligible payments under this Contract.

The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Research (hereinafter referred to as ‘MINEDUC’) now invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders for a publishing and supply of Kinyarwanda textbooks and teachers’ guides as follows:

Kinyarwanda Textbooks for Primary 1- 6
Kinyarwanda Teacher’s guide book 1- 6
Provision of basic training for teachers on the use of the books

The interested bidders may obtain further information, examine and purchase the Tender Document from the National Tender Board Secretariat situated at B.P. 4276 Kigali, Tel: (250) 501403/4/5, Fax: (250) 501402 Kigali-Rwanda at Avenue de la Paix from Monday the 21st February 2005 upon presentation of a prepaid bank slip of a non refundable fee of Fifty Thousand (50.000) Rwandan Francs for companies operating in Rwanda and One Hundred (100) US$ or their equivalent in any convertible currency for foreign companies, paid to the account N° 120.00.61 labelled “NTB Produits Ventes Diverses” opened at the Banque Nationale du Rwanda" B.P. 531 Tel: (250) 574282, Fax: (250)572551.
The National Tender Board will send the tender document to bidders residing abroad after having received the proof for payment of the amount mentioned above.

Well printed bids, properly bound and presented in four copies one of which is the original must reach the Executive Secretary of the National Tender Board in sealed envelopes not later than the 21st /10/ 2005 at 9.00 hours prompt local time (7.00 GMT), at the address mentioned above and they must be accompanied by a bank guarantee of Ten Thousand American dollars (US$ 10,000) or their equivalent. The offers shall be valid for 90 calendar days from the date of bid opening.
Poorly presented bids will be rejected.

The opening of the bids will take place in public session on the same day at 10.00 hours prompt local time (8.00 GMT) at the National Tender Board conference-room.

N.B. All information regarding the tender offered including minutes of the Board shall be available on the request at the NTB. The same information shall also be displayed on public notice boards outside the National Tender Board offices and on its website www.ntb.gov.rw
