Tender Notice N° 1/G/2009-ICB/EARP-DF/Invitation for Bids (IFB)

TENDER TO SUPPLY TRANSFORMERS AND MV OVERHEAD SWITCHGEAR

1. The Rwanda Electricity Corporation (RECO) (hereinafter called ‘’Client”) funded by Netherlands Minister for Development cooperation towards the cost of the Electricity Access Scale-up roll out programme (EARP). The Client intends to apply a portion of the funds to eligible payments under the contract for which this Bidding Document is issued.
2. RECO invites qualified bidders to submit bids for the supply of transformers and MV overhead switchgear as indicated in detail in the statement of Requirements.
3. Tender Documents in English may be obtained from RECO upon presentation of proof payment of a non refundable fee of Fifty Thousand Rwandan Francs (Rwf 50,000) or One Hundred Twenty Dollars (US $ 120) or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be by direct deposit to the account n° 010-0588001-68 opened to the BCR (Commercial Bank of Rwanda), or on the account n° 6013646-67 opened in dollars to the BK (Bank of Kigali).
4. Tender Documents may be obtained on any working day from 03/11/2009 between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm at RECO headquarter.
5. All bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Security of 20,000 USD or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency issued by a reputable bank.

8. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders or their representatives who choose to attend the same day in public session at 10 00 hours prompt local time (8.00 GMT) in the RECO conference room.
9. The Outer envelope should clearly indicate the tender name and title.

10. Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the Law N° 12/2007 of 27/03/2007 on Public Procurement.
